The fifth (big) step

On 24 August 2026, stonemason Sotona and Ladislav Kůstka met once again at the monument with a backhoe loader, which used ropes to hoist the upper section – already repaired and featuring gilded lettering – to the top of the monument. The sphere was then fitted to the very top of the monument without the aid of machinery. See the ‘Renovation’ section for more details.
