The icing on the cake

On 22 August 2026, following the dismantling and securing of the gilded inscription, restorer Martin Šerák reinstalled the plaque. The cross is now finally complete; all that remains is for it to be blessed. The inscription was chosen following a discussion amongst interested residents of Řetouň; in Czech, it means: ‘Hope unites the past, the present and the future’.
